Broccoli Pakora
A healthier twist to regular pakoras! Broccoli is known to have a variety of nutrients, including high amounts of fiber, vitamin C and iron. But what it’s not widely known for is how it makes a delectable snack and appetiser.
Made with a gluten-free batter and an assortment of spices, these pakoras have an interesting texture and can either be baked or fried. They’re crisp, flavourful, addictive and are ridiculously easy to make!
INGREDIENTS : –
- 1 cup broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 cup gram flour
- 2 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Water as needed
- Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS : –
1: Thoroughly wash and dry broccoli florets and set aside.
2: Combine the batter ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir in water in parts to make a smooth, lump-free batter.
3: For deep-fry :
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Dip each floret in the batter and coat them evenly.
- drop 3-4 florets into the oil and fry till crisp and golden-brown. Place them on a paper towel on a plate to absorb excess oil.
4: For baking :
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Place the battered florets on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping them half-way.
- Serve immediately with desired dipping sauce.
